Monochromatic Winter

Photographing in winter is where I find peace and tranquility. In the quiet of snow-covered landscapes, I feel centered and balanced. Snow has a way of simplifying the world — concealing distractions while revealing shape, line, texture, and light. Trees, branches, shorelines, and distant hills emerge with a quiet graphic beauty, offering moments of stillness, resilience, and grace.

These images were made during winter travels throughout North America and Europe over the last few years, as well as close to home in Colorado. Processed in monochromatic sepia tones, the photographs are further simplified, creating a sense of timelessness and quiet contemplation. This portfolio includes grand winter landscapes as well as intimate details, all reflecting the beauty, strength, and serenity I find in the winter season.
