Monochromatic Winter
Photographing in winter is where I find peace and tranquility. I especially feel centered and balanced because everything seems simple, quiet and beautiful. The snow conceals distracting elements and reveals a quiet yet graphic landscape. Stark shapes and forms emerge from the clean winter palette and ice abstracts become mesmerizing. The images were processed using sepia tones to create a sense of timelessness. I made these photographs on trips throughout North America and Europe over the last few years. Included in this portfolio are grand landscapes as well as intimate winter details.
