Photographing in winter is where I find peace and tranquility. I especially feel centered and balanced because everything seems simple, quiet and beautiful. The snow conceals distracting elements and reveals a quiet yet graphic landscape. Stark shapes and forms emerge from the clean winter palette and ice abstracts become mesmerizing. The images were processed using sepia tones to further simplify the scenes and to create a sense of timelessness. I made these photographs on trips throughout North America and Europe over the last few years. Included in this portfolio are grand landscapes as well as intimate winter details.
