Faded tombstone patterns represent the memories of past lives slipping into oblivion. I spent time with my Aunt Lib in a local Pennsylvania graveyard during her last years. As she told me stories about the interred, I started photographing the beautiful patterns on the worn stones. Today photographing in local graveyards gives me a sense of closeness to my aunt. An in-camera double exposure technique further enhances the patterns on the weathered tombstones.
