Frozen Worlds

These images were made over several winters wherever I found patterns of ice—most often in streams and lakes close to home, but also across North America. I’m drawn to ice for its quiet, magical world: simple, clean, fleeting, and full of unexpected beauty. The photographs became a form of play and discovery, capturing bubbles, fractures, currents, and light. I processed them in sepia tones to simplify the scenes and evoke a sense of timelessness. As our climate changes, these frozen patterns feel even more precious: fragile moments of nature’s beauty that may one day vanish.
